Transfer Power Deep Dive

Module 7: T - Transfer Power
"Transfer is the ultimate test of understanding. If you cannot apply it somewhere else, you do not truly understand it."
Skin vs. Skeleton
Every situation has a skin (surface features: the people, the industry, the specific context) and a skeleton (deep structure: the pattern, the principle, the transferable logic).
Most people only see the skin. They think a construction dispute and a game theory problem are completely different situations. Someone with high T sees the skeleton: both are Prisoner's Dilemma scenarios where cooperation beats defection.
Three Powerful Pairs
Measures temp, compares to target, adjusts heat/cooling
Measures performance, compares to goal, adjusts resources/coaching
Random variation, selection pressure, survival of the fittest
Random variations, user preference, survival of the best performer
Small gains reinvested over time create exponential growth
Small behaviors repeated daily compound into massive life changes
Same skeleton. Different skin. Once you see this, you cannot unsee it.
The Analogy Journal
Daily exercise: At the end of each day, find ONE cross-domain analogy.
Format: "The way [X works in Domain A] is structurally identical to [Y in Domain B] because [shared skeleton]."
Example: "The way a restaurant kitchen uses mise en place (everything in its place before cooking starts) is structurally identical to how a surgeon preps an operating room. Both reduce decision fatigue under pressure by front-loading organization."
Do this for 30 days. Your T score will rise measurably.
Connection to Far Transfer
Transfer Power is the variable that connects the Intelligence Loop to the broader field of learning science. Dr. Bullock's book Far Transfer dives deep into 14 protocols across 6 domains (Attention, Knowledge, Skill, Reasoning, Metacognition, Execution) that build the complete transfer architecture. The Intelligence Loop gives you the equation. Far Transfer gives you the operating system.
